According to the book, Open the Gates to the Ivy League, twenty colleges ranked in the top twenty-five by U.S. News have back doors for college admissions.      Author C. W. Only for the desparate

First the book starts of off using scare tactics to get you to believe that anything other than an ivy league education implies you are doomed to failure in life. The statistics presented do not match wage statistics available from other sources which made me very skeptical from the very start. From that point the author assumes you are desparate to get into an ivy and proceeds to give you viable strategies assuming you are extemely desparate and will do whatever it takes to get in. So if you are desparate and have poor grades, low test scores, no leadership activities then this book is for you. If you are an excellent student looking for an edge on admissions, look elsewhere.

A Fantastic Resource

This book provides a crisp and insightful perspective on admissions, college 'brands', and financial pressures experienced by the families of many aspiring university students. I was pleased to discover that rather than constituting a way to cheat or trick one's way into a top college -- an impression easy to arrive at, given the title -- this book targets the intersection of top-notch education, minimized student debt, and the retention of the networking options available to those who arrive in a more traditional fashion. Open The Gates comes highly recommended to anyone seeking to maximize their post-secondary educational options.

Finally, A Realistic Alternative

Mr. Henderson has finally offered a realistic alternative for those with children whose scholastic achievements aren't in that brilliant top one percent the Ivy League universities seek. I had no idea these alternative pathways existed, and I'm sure that's an ignorance shared by a lot of parents. The information in this book will make it possible for many more deserving students to find admittance to an Ivy League school. And as a parent, you can now feel you have a decent chance to make your kid one of them.
