New York Times and USA Today bestseller Joseph Nassise delivers another "tour-de-force of adrenaline-drenched mayhem" in the 4th book of the action-packed Templar Chronicles urban fantasy series.
The war with the Chiang Shih is over but the Templars have paid a high price for victory. Even the Echo Team has not escaped unscathed, its commander returned a changed man with his thirst for vengeance quenched, but his spirit broken.
It is the moment Simon Logan, the Necromancer has been waiting for. A daring prison break allows him to escape Templar control and vanish into the night. Newly promoted Captain Riley and the reformed Echo Team are given the job of tracking him down. But rather than waiting for Echo to come looking for him, the Necromancer takes the battle to them instead; luring former Commander Williams away from his home and stealing the physical form of his wife, Gabrielle, a woman caught somewhere between life and death.
It is perhaps the one act that could rouse Cade from the grey haze his life has become. As he ruthlessly tracks the Necromancer through this world and the next, Cade can't help but ask himself what Logan might want with a half-dead woman and the man who had literally traveled to hell and back to rescue her..
Interview with the Author
Q: What makes the Templar Chronicles series so interesting?
A: It's a combination of things, in my view. The series features modern Templar Knights acting as a secret combat squad for the Vatican, protecting mankind from supernatural threats and enemies. It is part urban fantasy series, part paranormal mystery series, and part supernatural or occult crime series. Think SWAT meets Supernatural mixed with The Walking Dead and you've got it in one!
Q: Is there a particular order that the book should be read in?
A: While each book can stand alone as a complete order, I do think readers will get more enjoyment out of them if they follow this sequence:
- The Heretic
- A Scream of Angels
-The Hungry Dark (eNovella #2)
-A Tear in the Sky
- Infernal Games
- Judgment Day
- Fall of Night
If readers want a bit more back story before the events of The Heretic, they can also read Shades of Blood and Darkness (eNovella #1).
What makes the series different from other urban fantasy series?
A: First, it is a bit darker in tone than many of the other popular UF series. For instance, while the humor in Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files or Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles is often light and comical, the humor in the Templar Chronicles often has a much blacker edge to it. Second, many of the storylines in the Templar series feature action-oriented combat sequences similar to those in the Monster Hunter International or Jane Yellowrock series and this isn't typical for most urban fantasy. Third, unlike many other series on the market today, there isn't much romance here; if you want your hero or heroine hooking up with a hot vampire or shifter, you've definitely come to the wrong place.
To help readers know what the Templar Chronicles are like, what would you compare them to?
A: I think the series is well-suited for fans of the series already mentioned above, as well as those readers who like Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson seires, Kat Richardson's Greywalker series, and Seanan McGuire's October Daye series. Fans of television shows like Supernatural, Grimm, Constantine, True Blood, and Penny Dreadful should also find something of interest here.

Review for Infernal Games (A Templar Chronicles Urban Fantasy Adventure)
By Stephen Fitts
The Templar Chronicles were supposed to be a Trilogy, but popular demand convinced Mr. Nassise to write a fourth book. It is an awesome book. I am reading it again for the second time, and I just downloaded it yesterday. Big Kudos to Mr. Nassise and his publishers for keeping the story alive!
...
Edit.
Just finished reading it for the third time. I just can't get enough of The Templar Chronicles. This book picks up after A Tear in the Sky and is a fine adventure. Cade Williams, the main character of The Templar Chronicles goes on a rogue mission to deal with the Necromancer. (Those of you familiar with Heretic will remember him as the main bad guy and an information source in A Tear in the Sky). Mr. Nassise uses this book to wrap up events in A Tear in the Sky and set the stage for more Cade adventures. The stark images of our world mirrored by the dessication in the Beyond draw the reader into the bleakness of a world where the Templars are the beacon of light and hope for us all. I highly recommend this book series to any Urban Fantasy reader. Start at the beginning and savor each and every moment with Cade and the Templars in Mr. Nassise's world.

Love, Love, Love it!!!

SPOILER ALERT!!
Last night I stole the Hubby's iPad after he mentioned he'd purchased the Kindle edition of Infernal Games. I read it in one sitting. I was thrilled that rather than stopping with the Templar Chronicles Trilogy as it was originally planned, Joseph Nassise continued the story! This is some of his best Templar writing. Cade going off on his own, planning, and trying to take out The Necromancer on his own. Oh yeah, he brought back Simon Logan, The Necromancer as a villain! LOVED IT! And it set the stage for a new set of adventures. I can't wait for the next one.

J.R.Ewing Alert!!!!!
By GrumpyGranny
I love this series. I absolutely jumped for joy to follow Cade's story once again. Some minor editing errors caused, no doubt, by using spell checkers not humans, to validate the pages, annoyed me a bit but not enough to get in the way of my enjoyment of the story. Mr. Nassise did that to me all by himself by resorting to a stupid cliff hanger ending: good for tv but absolutely wrong for a novel. I am angry enough to lower the level of the book to two stars for this, to me, unprofessional treatment of a reader and consumer. I don't accept the concept of cutting a book in two so readers must pay twice.........make the book complete and charge a little more. very very disgusted with this methodology. I'm not sure I can trust this author not to pull this again so whether or not I choose to take another chance at another book is problematical.
